After missing three straight games, Kawhi Leonard is set to return to the NBA floor tonight against the Boston Celtics.
Leonard has not played since last Wednesday after suffering a left knee contusion during the Clippers’ loss to the Houston Rockets. Leonard’s co-star, Paul George, made his season debut the following night in New Orleans, and is yet to play with Leonard.
Clippers centre Ivica Zubac said on Wednesday morning that he couldn’t wait to play with the two perennial All-Stars.
Yeah, finally. It will be great. We are really good with only Kawhi [playing and George out]. We are really good with only PG [and Leonard out]. So you know when you put them two together, it’s got to be good. So we’ll see it tonight, but I’m really excited.
Leonard has played in nine games for the Clippers so far this season after moving to L.A. in this year’s free agency period. He is averaging 26.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists.
