The Vikings were without Stefon Diggs at practice for a second day running, and the news is even worse for them given Adam Thielen suffered an ankle injury on Wednesday.
Thielen – whose massive catch in overtime set up the Vikings win against the Saints on Sunday – was listed as limited on the team’s IR, and was not seen walking off the field.
ESPN does not believe the injury to be too significant, and is unlikely to affect his availability for Saturday’s game against the 49ers in the NFC divisional round.
Thielen was not listed on the Vikings’ injury report on Tuesday. He apparently went through all his normal stretching routines and individual drills during the section of practice that was open to the media, and was scheduled to speak to the media after the practice but that was later postponed.
Diggs, on the other hand, is reportedly dealing with an illness, but head coach Mike Zimmer was not concerned about his availability to play in San Francisco on Saturday.
“No, he’s sick,” Zimmer said of Diggs. “He’ll be fine.”
