A pair of teams headed in opposite directions go head-to-head on Monday as the Houston Rockets (9-23, 3-13 Away) will be looking to halt their losing streak when they are on the road to face the streaking Chicago Bulls (14-18, 7-7 Home).
Houston lost to the Dallas Mavericks 112-106 at Toyota Center on Friday, their fifth straight loss. Jabari Smith Jr. was the leading scorer in defeat with 24 points. Alperen Sengun chipped in with 19 points and seven assists.
The Rockets are the 15th seed in the Western Conference. Chicago won their third in a row in a close one on Friday at Madison Square Garden, beating the New York Knicks 118-117. Zach LaVine had 33 points, carrying the team.
The Bulls are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.The teams are meeting for the first time this season. Houston and Chicago split their matchups last season, taking one apiece.
The Bulls came out on top in the last meeting 133-118 at United Center in December 2021. DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 26 points and six assists.
Christian Wood had 23 points and 11 rebounds in defeat. Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr., averaging 21.3 and 18.7 points per game, respectively, have led the Rockets in scoring this season. Porter Jr. also has dished 5.5 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Sengun is grabbing 8.7 rebounds per game. DeRozan and LaVine have supplied much of the Bulls’ offense, averaging 25.8 and 22.1 points per game, respectively. DeRozan also has distributed 4.9 assists per game. Nikola Vucevic has collected 10.4 rebounds per game.
