The Los Angeles Lakers have defied all the odds and upset two of the best teams in the Western Conference to advance to this Western Conference Finals series. Now they will be looking to keep the magic alive as they look to pick up the victory over the Denver Nuggets on the road in Denver here in game number one on Tuesday evening. LeBron James and Anthony Davis will have to continue to play well like they have throughout the first two rounds of this playoff season. The supporting cast like D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves also have to keep up their solid performances if the Lakers want to grab a victory in this game and in this series.
With the way Nikola Jokić has performed throughout the first two rounds of this season’s playoffs, it is easy to see why many people thought he truly deserved the MVP award over Joel Embiid. It’s a regular season award and you can argue that Nikola Jokić put up better numbers in the regular season than Joel Embiid did as well. Regardless of that fact, the Denver Nuggets are now on the doorstep of making the NBA finals and if they continue to play the way they have throughout the playoffs this far, they will find themselves competing for a championship in June. I expect them to look great here in game number one at home and pick up the victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
