The Chicago Bulls (22-25, 9-15 Away), one of the league’s top shooting teams, travel to face the Charlotte Hornets (13-36, 5-16 Home) on Thursday. Chicago dropped their last game against the Indiana Pacers 116-110 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
DeMar DeRozan had a standout performance in defeat with 33 points. The Bulls are the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte lost in blowout fashion on Tuesday at Footprint Center, falling to the Phoenix Suns 128-97.
Terry Rozier topped the scoresheet in the losing effort with 19 points. With 17 points and four assists, Mason Plumlee also played a part. The Hornets are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the final time this season. Chicago will be pursuing a season sweep against Charlotte after winning the only previous matchup 106-88 at United Center in November 2022. Javonte Green led the Bulls with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.
Kelly Oubre Jr. had 24 points in the losing effort. DeRozan and Zach LaVine, averaging 26.2 and 23.7 points per game, respectively, are leading the Bulls in scoring this season. DeRozan also has dished 4.9 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Nikola Vucevic is grabbing 11.1 rebounds per game. Rozier (21.3 ppg) and Oubre Jr. (20.2) have powered the Hornets on offense. Rozier also has recorded 5.2 assists per game. Plumlee has collected 9.7 rebounds per game.
The Bulls are one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the NBA, ranking fifth at 48.8%. The Bulls have found success in recent visits to Spectrum Center, winning six of the last 10. Charlotte has dropped five straight at home this season.
