The No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns (27-8, 15-6 Big 12) take on the No. 10 seed Penn State Nittany Lions (23-13, 13-11 Big 10) Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Penn State beat the Texas A&M Aggies 76-59 at Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday in the First Round. Andrew Funk was the standout player with 27 points.
Texas won their fifth in a row in dominating fashion in the First Round on Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena, beating the Colgate Raiders 81-61. Sir’Jabari Rice had 23 points and six rebounds, leading the team. The Nittany Lions have been led this season by Jalen Pickett, who is averaging 17.9 points per game.
Pickett also is contributing 6.7 assists, fourth-most in the NCAA, and 7.3 rebounds per game. Marcus Carr (15.9 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Longhorns’ offense. Carr also has tallied 4.1 assists per game.
