The No. 18 Wisconsin Badgers (11-4, 3-2 Big 10) will try to slow down one of the nation’s top scoring teams when they travel to face the Indiana Hoosiers (10-5, 1-3 Big 10) on Saturday. Wisconsin lost to the Michigan State Spartans 69-65 at Kohl Center on Tuesday. Steven Crowl was the scoring leader in the loss with 19 points.
Connor Essegian added 13 points. The Badgers remain fifth in the Big Ten Conference. Indiana lost a close one on Sunday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, falling to the Northwestern Wildcats 84-83. Jalen Hood-Schifino scored 33 points to top the scoresheet in the loss. With 18 points, 24 rebounds, eight assists, and four blocks, Trayce Jackson-Davis also had an impressive game.
The Hoosiers slipped to 13th in the Big Ten Conference. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Wisconsin won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 74-69 triumph at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in February 2022, their fifth straight head-to-head victory.
Johnny Davis led the Badgers with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Jackson-Davis had 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three blocks in the loss. The Badgers have been led this season by Chucky Hepburn (13.0 ppg), Crowl (12.9), and Tyler Wahl (11.4). Crowl also has grabbed 6.6 rebounds per game, while Hepburn has dished 3.4 assists per game.
Jackson-Davis (15.1 ppg) has been the primary provider for the Hoosiers on offense. Jackson-Davis also has pulled down 8.2 rebounds per game. Xavier Johnson has tallied 3.9 assists per game. The Hoosiers are one of the most explosive offenses in the NCAA, ranking 25th with 80.9 points per game.
