The Purdue Boilermakers (3-0) are on the road to face the West Virginia Mountaineers (4-0) on Thursday in a matchup of teams on winning runs. Purdue beat the Marquette Golden Eagles 75-70 at Mackey Arena on November 15, their third consecutive win.
Zach Edey was a top performer with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. West Virginia won their fourth in a row in dominating fashion on Friday at WVU Coliseum, beating the Penn Quakers 92-58. Erik Stevenson had 21 points, leading the team.
The Boilermakers won the last meeting between the teams 73-70 at WVU Coliseum in December 2013. The Boilermakers have been led early this season by Edey, who is averaging 20.7 points per game. Edey also has grabbed 13.7 rebounds per game, second-most in the nation.
Meanwhile, Ethan Morton is dishing 4.0 assists. Stevenson (14.0 ppg) and Tre Mitchell (13.3) have supplied much of the Mountaineers’ offense. Jimmy Bell Jr. is collecting 5.5 rebounds per game, and Kedrian Johnson is tallying 3.3 assists.
