The No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats (15-1, 4-0 Big 12) will be looking to extend their winning streak when they travel to face the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs (13-3, 2-2 Big 12) on Saturday. Kansas State defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys 65-57 at Fred Bramlage Coliseum on Tuesday, their ninth consecutive win.
With 20 points and seven assists, Markquis Nowell was the key player. The Wildcats dropped to third in the Big 12 Conference. TCU dropped their last game on Wednesday at Moody Center, falling to the Texas Longhorns 79-75. Emanuel Miller had 21 points in the loss to lead the team. The Horned Frogs remain fifth in the Big 12 Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Kansas State and TCU split their matchups last season, each team winning one game. The Wildcats earned the win in the last meeting 75-63 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in February 2022. Nijel Pack led the Wildcats with 20 points.
Damion Baugh had 17 points in the losing effort. Keyontae Johnson and Nowell, averaging 18.4 and 17.2 points per game, respectively, have led the Wildcats in scoring this season. Johnson also has grabbed 7.0 rebounds per game, while Nowell has dished 8.8 assists per game, second-most in the country.
Mike Miles Jr.’s 15.8 points per game have powered the Horned Frogs on offense. Eddie Lampkin Jr. is collecting 6.9 rebounds per game, and Baugh is tallying 3.4 assists.
Kansas State is 9-1 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +11.0 (80.2-69.2). TCU has gone 8-2 over the last 10, scoring 79.9 points per game on average while allowing 65.5 (+14.4 margin).
