The No. 6 Baylor Bears (5-1), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, head to face the Marquette Golden Eagles (5-2) on Tuesday. Baylor blew out the McNeese State Cowboys 89-60 at Ferrell Center on Wednesday. Keyonte George was the scoring leader with 17 points.
Adam Flagler added 13 points and nine assists. Marquette triumphed on Saturday at Fiserv Forum, beating the Chicago State Cougars 82-68. Olivier-Maxence Prosper had 18 points to top the scoresheet. With 13 points and three blocks, Oso Ighodaro also produced a strong performance.
LJ Cryer and Flagler, averaging 17.7 and 17.0 points per game, respectively, are leading the Bears in scoring this season. Flagler also has dished 7.2 assists per game, eighth-most in the nation. Meanwhile, Flo Thamba is grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game.
Kam Jones and Prosper have supplied much of the Golden Eagles’ offense, averaging 13.3 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. Tyler Kolek is distributing 7.9 assists per game, third-most in the country, and Ighodaro is pulling down 6.0 rebounds per game. The Bears rank as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, seventh-best with 91.2 points per game.
