The No. 9 Gonzaga Bulldogs (12-3, 1-0 WCC), one of the country’s top scoring teams, are on the road to face the San Francisco Dons (11-6, 0-2 WCC) on Thursday. Gonzaga dismantled the Pepperdine Waves 111-88 at McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday, their seventh win in a row.
Drew Timme had a standout performance with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. San Francisco fell short on Saturday at War Memorial Gymnasium, falling to the San Diego Toreros 80-68. Khalil Shabazz had 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss, carrying the team. The Dons fell to ninth in the West Coast Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. They last met in the West Coast Conference Tourney semifinals when the Bulldogs eliminated the Dons with an 81-71 victory at Orleans Arena in March 2022, their 24th straight head-to-head win.
Gonzaga won both regular season matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was an 81-71 triumph at Orleans Arena in March 2022. Timme led the Bulldogs with 22 points, while Chet Holmgren added 17 points and six blocks.
