The Vanderbilt Commodores (8-8, 1-2 SEC) will try to slow down one of the top shooting teams in the Southeastern Conference when they host the No. 15 Arkansas Razorbacks (12-4, 1-3 SEC) on Saturday. Arkansas was defeated by the Alabama Crimson Tide 84-69 at Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday.
Jalen Graham was a top performer in the losing effort with 16 points. The Razorbacks are 11th in the Southeastern Conference. Vanderbilt came up short on Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena, falling to the Tennessee Volunteers 77-68.
Liam Robbins had 18 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in the losing effort to lead the team. The Commodores remain eighth in the Southeastern Conference. It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Vanderbilt got the win in the only matchup between the teams last season 75-74 at Bud Walton Arena in January 2022.
Stanley Umude topped all players in scoring with 28 points in the losing effort. Scotty Pippen Jr. had 22 points for the Commodores. The Razorbacks have been led this season by Ricky Council IV, who is averaging 17.9 points per game.
Meanwhile, Makhi Mitchell is grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game, and Anthony Black is dishing 3.6 assists. Robbins (13.2 ppg) has powered the Commodores’ offense. Robbins also has posted 6.1 rebounds per game. Ezra Manjon has doled out 3.2 assists per game.
The Razorbacks rank as one of the most accurate teams from the field in the conference, second-best at 47.2%.Arkansas is 7-3 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +9.9 (74.6-64.7).
