The Fresno State Bulldogs (9-15, 5-8 MWC), one of the top scoring defenses in the Mountain West Conference, play host to the No. 21 San Diego State Aztecs (20-5, 11-2 MWC) on Wednesday.

San Diego State beat the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels 82-71 at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl on Saturday, their third win in a row. With 18 points, Adam Seiko was the scoring leader. Matt Bradley added 17 points. The Aztecs remain first in the Mountain West Conference.

Fresno State lost on Friday at Lawlor Events Center, falling to the Nevada Wolf Pack 77-66. Isaiah Hill had 20 points to lead the team in scoring in defeat. With 10 points, Eduardo Andre also played a part. The Bulldogs remain eighth in the Mountain West Conference.

This marks the only meeting of the season between the teams. They last met in the Mountain West Conference Tournament quarterfinals when the Aztecs knocked out the Bulldogs with a 53-46 victory at Thomas & Mack Center in March 2022, their seventh straight head-to-head win.

San Diego State won both regular season matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was a 53-46 triumph at Thomas & Mack Center in March 2022. Seiko led the Aztecs with 11 points. Orlando Robinson had 25 points and 11 rebounds in defeat.

Bradley is averaging 13.2 points per game to lead the Aztecs in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Nathan Mensah is grabbing 6.0 rebounds per game, and Darrion Trammell is dishing 3.6 assists. Jemarl Baker (12.0 ppg), Isaih Moore (11.0), and Hill (10.7) have supplied much of the Bulldogs’ offense.

Moore also has posted 7.0 rebounds per game, while Hill has tallied 3.3 assists per game. The Bulldogs are one of the top scoring defenses in the MWC, ranking second with 65.4 points per game allowed.

The Aztecs have had the advantage in recent visits to Save Mart Center, winning six of the last 10. In the last 10 games, San Diego State is 8-2 with an average margin of +7.1 (73.3-66.2).
