The No. 23 Charleston Cougars (14-1, 2-0 CAA) are on the road to face the North Carolina A&T Aggies (6-9, 1-1 CAA) Wednesday in what should be one of the more up-tempo games in Colonial Athletic play. Charleston squeaked by the Towson Tigers 76-74 at SECU Arena on Saturday, their 13th straight win. Ante Brzovic led the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
The Cougars slipped to third in the Colonial Athletic Conference. North Carolina A&T won a close one on Saturday at Mack Sports Complex, beating the Hofstra Pride 81-79. Demetric Horton had 21 points and six rebounds to lead the team. The Aggies fell to seventh in the Colonial Athletic Conference.
Dalton Bolon (12.5 ppg), Ryan Larson (11.2), and Reyne Smith (11.1) are leading the Cougars in scoring this season. Larson also has dished 3.9 assists per game. Meanwhile, Babacar Faye is grabbing 5.4 rebounds per game.Kam Woods (17.4 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Aggies’ offense.
Woods also has recorded 3.2 assists per game. Austin Johnson has pulled down 6.2 rebounds per game. Look for plenty of transition offense in this matchup that showcases two of the CAA’s most fast-paced teams, as the Cougars are second in possessions per game while the Aggies are third.
