The No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide (20-3, 10-0 SEC), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, travel to face the Auburn Tigers (17-7, 7-4 SEC) on Saturday. Alabama topped the LSU Tigers 79-69 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday.
With 14 points and three blocks, Noah Clowney was the key player. The Crimson Tide are first in the Southeastern Conference. Auburn fell short on Tuesday at Reed Arena, falling to the Texas A&M Aggies 83-78. Wendell Green Jr. topped the scoresheet in the losing effort with 20 points. With 18 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, Johni Broome also had a strong game.
The Tigers are fifth in the Southeastern Conference.The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Auburn won both matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was a 100-81 triumph at Neville Arena in February 2022.
Green Jr. led the Tigers with 23 points, while Walker Kessler was a key contributor with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocks. Jaden Shackelford had 26 points in defeat. Brandon Miller is averaging 18.8 points per game to lead the Crimson Tide in scoring this season. Miller also has grabbed 8.2 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Jaden Bradley is dishing 3.3 assists. Green Jr. (13.9 ppg) and Broome (13.1) have supplied much of the Tigers’ offense. Broome also has posted 8.6 rebounds per game, while Green Jr. has tallied 4.4 assists per game.
The Crimson Tide rank as one of the top scoring offenses in the country, ninth-best with 83.1 points per game. The Crimson Tide have struggled in recent games at Neville Arena, losing eight of the last 10.In the last 10 games, Alabama is 9-1 with an average margin of +18.2 (83.0-64.8).
