The Kansas State Wildcats (23-8, 11-7 Big 12) take on the TCU Horned Frogs (20-11, 9-9 Big 12) Thursday at T-Mobile Center in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference Tourney.
TCU dropped their last game against the Oklahoma Sooners 74-60 at Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday in their regular season finale. Mike Miles Jr. was the scoring leader in the loss with 17 points. Damion Baugh added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Kansas State lost on Saturday at WVU Coliseum, falling to the West Virginia Mountaineers 89-81 in their regular season finale. Markquis Nowell had 24 points, eight assists, and six steals in the loss to lead the team.
TCU and Kansas State split their two matchups this season. The Wildcats won the most recent meeting, beating the Horned Frogs 82-61 at Fred Bramlage Coliseum on February 7.
Nowell led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Desi Sills added 14 points and six rebounds. Baugh had 16 points in the loss. The Horned Frogs have been led this season by Miles Jr. and Emanuel Miller, who are averaging 12.7 and 11.5 points per game, respectively. Miller also has grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Baugh is dishing 4.8 assists per game. Keyontae Johnson and Nowell have powered the Wildcats’ offense, averaging 17.8 and 17.0 points per game, respectively. Johnson also has averaged 7.0 rebounds per game, while Nowell has doled out 7.7 assists per game, third-most in the country.
TCU is 4-6 in the last 10 games with an average margin of -2.9 (71.3-74.2). For the season, the Horned Frogs are averaging 75.5 points per game, compared to 68.0 for opponents.
