They have put up solid numbers on the offensive end of the court as they are scoring around 77 points per game, but their defense has hampered their performance throughout the early part of the year. As they are giving up about 79 points per game and that is not sustainable for long-term success throughout the season and that is something that will have to change quickly if they want to pick up a victory in this game on Wednesday. They come into this game with a little bit of momentum as they have picked up two consecutive victories, and they will be looking for a third consecutive win here on Wednesday night.

Houston is having a fantastic start to the regular season and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Wednesday night against their in-state rivals. They were a contender last season, and they will be looking to further establish themselves as a legitimate national title contender this season as they continue to rack up victories throughout the early part of the regular season. They come into this game with eight consecutive victories to open up the year, and they are currently ranked in the top three of the country, and they will be looking to further establish themselves as one of the top teams in the country with another victory here on Wednesday night. There is an argument to be made that they have the best defense in the country this season as they are giving up 50 points per game throughout their first eight games of the year and that is something that will continue to lead to victories for them, if they can maintain that pace. I expect exactly that to happen in this game as I look for them to pick up a comfortable victory here on Wednesday night at home and cover the spread in the process.

#12 Texas @ #8 Marquette – 8PM ET

Texas is off to a quality start to the regular season and they will be looking for a huge résumé building victory here on Wednesday night on the road against Marquette. The Longhorns coming into this game ranked 12th in the country and they will be looking to further establish themselves as a legitimate national title contender with a victory in this game on Wednesday night against a top ten team in the country. Texas comes into this game as winners of six out of their first seven on the season and they will be looking for their seventh victory of the year here on Wednesday night in this huge top 12 clash. They’ve had one of the most efficient offenses in the country throughout the early part of the regular season as they are averaging 81 points per game, and they will be looking to improve that average in this game against Marquette. They come into this game with plenty of momentum after back-to-back blowout victories over Texas State, and Wyoming, and they will be looking for a third consecutive win here on Wednesday night. 

Marquette is off to a solid start this season as well, and they will be looking for a huge résumé boosting victory here on Wednesday night at home against Texas. Marquette has been challenged several times throughout the early part of the season and it is leading up to them playing in the Big East this season, which will have some of the top teams in the country throughout the year. So building an important résumé will be huge for Marquette throughout the season if they want to leave a good impression on the NCAA tournament selection committee. A victory in this game at home against Texas would go a long way in helping them accomplish that goal throughout the remainder of their nonconference schedule. They come into this game with six victories through their first eight games of the regular season with one loss to Purdue and one lost to Wisconsin so they will be happy to not be playing the Big Ten for the remainder of the year. I look for them to bounce back in solid fashion here on Wednesday night at home as I look for them to pick up a close victory against the Texas Longhorns.

South Carolina @ #24 Clemson – 8PM ET

South Carolina is off to an incredible start to the regular season and they will be looking to add to their résumé with a top 25 victory on the road in Clemson on Wednesday night. South Carolina will need to pick up every nonconference victory they can grab along the way before heading into SEC conference play, which will be one of the most competitive conferences in the country this year. South Carolina is undefeated through their first seven games of the regular season and they will be looking for an eighth consecutive victory here on Wednesday night on the road against Clemson. A victory in this game would likely propel them into the top 25 when the new rankings come out next week as long as they remain undefeated throughout the rest of the week as well. The play of Meechie Johnson has helped lead them to the solid start of the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that momentum with another solid performance against their in-state rivals here in this one. 

Clemson comes into this game undefeated as well and they are ranked 21st in the country, and they will be looking to further move up the rankings of another quality victory here on Wednesday night at home. The play of PJ Hall has helped lead Clemson to their undefeated record throughout the early part of the regular season, and they will be looking to maintain that play with another quality game here on Wednesday night against their rivals as they look to take down South Carolina. They have been picking up comfortable victories left and right and they will be looking for an eighth consecutive victory here on Wednesday night at home as they look to build their résumé before heading into Atlantic Coast Conference play at the turn of the new year. Clemson has been fantastic on both ends of the court but their offense really sticks out as they are averaging 80 points per game this season and I look for it to lead them to another victory here on Wednesday night against South Carolina.

Denver @ #13 Colorado State – 9PM ET

Denver is off to a quality start to the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that quality start with a massive upset victory over Colorado State here on Wednesday night on the road. Denver has picked up six victories through their first nine games of the regular season and they will be looking for their seventh victory of the year here on Wednesday night against the number thirteen team in the country. They have one of the top scores in the country on their roster that has helped lead them to this fantastic start of the season as Tommy Bruner is third in the country in points per game. If he can maintain that pace throughout the regular season, this is going to be a very successful season for Denver and it could lead to them pulling off the upset of Colorado State here on Wednesday night. They come into this game with plenty of momentum as they are currently on a four game-winning streak. They will be looking for a fifth consecutive victory here in this one. 

Colorado State is undefeated through their first eight games of the regular season and they will be looking for a ninth consecutive victory here at home on Wednesday night against Denver. After their latest round of victories, they have broken their way into the top 15 of the country, and they will be looking to move even further up the rankings with another quality performance in this game here on Wednesday night. They have been efficient at the offensive end of the court as they are scoring around 85 points per game throughout their first eight games of the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that pace for another 80+ point performance here in this game. They are coming off of three massive victories in a row after taking down Creighton, Colorado, and Washington, and their previous three games, and they will be looking for another victory here. That is exactly what I expect as I look for them to pick up a comfortable victory at home and cover the spread in the process.

DePaul @ #21 Texas A&M – 9PM ET

DePaul is having a rough start to the regular season, and they come into this game with only one victory through their first seven games of the year. They will be looking to get the momentum rolling in the right direction with a victory here on Wednesday night on the road in College Station against Texas A&M as they look to build up some momentum before heading into conference play. If this trend continues, they are really going to suffer when they get into conference play this season as they are playing in one of the deepest conferences in the country and it’ll be a dogfight night in and night out for the Blue Demons. They have looked less than impressive throughout the early part of the year, as they have been less than competitive throughout their six losses this season, and that is something that’ll have to change rather quickly, if they want to find some type of pulse and potentially compete for an at large bid in the NCAA tournament. They have lost their last four games in a row and they will be looking to get back into the wind column with a crucial victory here on Wednesday night against Texas A&M.

Texas A&M is off to a decent start this season as they come into this game as winners of six out of their first eight games on the year and they will be looking for their seventh victory of the season here at home. They come into this game ranked inside the top 25 in the country, and they will be looking to further establish themselves as a legitimate contender to win a national championship this season with another quality victory against DePaul here on Wednesday night. Texas A&M has been solid on the offensive end of the court as they are scoring around 75 points per game throughout their first eight games of the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that average with another high-quality performance here in this one against the Blue Demons. That is exactly what I expect, as I look for them to pick up the victory in this game on Wednesday night and cover the spread in the process at home against the Blue Demons of DePaul. As I look for Texas A&M to get themselves a very comfortable victory at home here in this one.
