Stonehill comes into this game looking for a monumental program changing victory over the defending national champions here on Saturday afternoon on the road against Connecticut. They come into this game with a record of one and one through their first two games of the season and they will be looking to pick up their second victory of the season and what will likely be their toughest game of the year. They will need to play a pretty much perfect game of basketball if they want to find a way to get the job done on the road against Connecticut here on Saturday afternoon as it would likely be the biggest upset of the season and we are only less than a week into the college basketball season. They are coming off of a victory against Army in their previous game, and they will be looking for their second consecutive victory here on Saturday afternoon.

The UConn Huskies come into this game looking to get their second victory of the season and continue their national championship defense with a solid start to this brand new year. They return plenty of talent from last year’s national championship team, and if they remain healthy and consistent, they have a legitimate chance to repeat as national champions this season. They come into the year ranked sixth in the country in the initial top 25 rankings, and they will be looking to move further up the rankings throughout the season, and it starts with gathering dominant performances throughout the first couple weeks of the year before the next poll

is released. I expect them to pick up a quality performance in this game at home against Stonehill on Saturday afternoon. I also look for UConn to cover the spread in the process here on Saturday as well.

Texas A&M CC @ #7 Houston – 1:30PM ET

Texas A&M Corpus Christi has made waves as a tiny mid major that tends to make NCAA tournament appearances every so often. They will be looking to further put their name on the map with an upset victory of Houston here on Saturday afternoon on the road as they have an opportunity to knock off a top 10 team in the country early on in the season. They opened up their season with a victory, and they will be looking for their second consecutive victory to open up the year here on Saturday afternoon, but they will need to play a near perfect game of basketball if they want to get the job done in this game against a nationally ranked Houston team. They will need to be a lot more efficient from the field after only shooting 56% and a miserable 27% from behind the three-point line and that will need to improve in a major way if they want to get the job done here on Saturday afternoon. 

Houston comes into this game looking to get their solid season off to a respectable start as they look for their second victory of the year here on Saturday afternoon at home. Houston is a team that has the potential to compete for a conference championship and potentially a national championship as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the year. They were one of the best teams in all of college basketball last season, but some unfortunate losses cost them a chance at a national championship a year ago. They return plenty of talent and leadership from last season’s roster and those players will be looking to carry that momentum over into this season and it starts with grabbing a comfortable victory here on Saturday against Texas A&M Corpus Christi at home. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Houston Cougars to not only pick up a victory here on Saturday but I look for them to cover the spread in the process.

North Dakota State @ #8 Creighton – 2PM ET

North Dakota State comes into this game looking to grab a massive upset early on in the season and pick up somewhat of a statement victory on the road against Creighton here on Saturday afternoon. For years, North Dakota State has been a pretty decent mid-major in college basketball, but nothing like their powerhouse football program that has dominated the FCS over the last couple of decades. Successful season by the men’s basketball program could potentially close that gap a little bit and an upset victory over a nationally ranked team in the country would certainly draw some comparisons to the football program. They are coming off of back-to-back victories to open up the season and they will be looking for a third consecutive victory here on Saturday when they hit the road for the second time to play the Blue Jays. This will be the start of three consecutive road games for them so they will be looking to set the tone with an upset victory here on Saturday afternoon. 

Creighton comes into this game looking to continue their solid start to the regular season with a second victory here on Saturday afternoon at home over North Dakota State. Creighton comes into this game with plenty of potential and expectations this season and they will be looking to live up to those expectations and not derail the potential early on in the year with a shocking upset loss. They picked up a comfortable victory in their opening game of the season and this is a team that could potentially challenge for a national title as they return a lot of major players from last season, but they need to remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season to do so. I look for another game on Saturday afternoon at home as they further establish themselves as a top 10 team in the country. That is why I look for them to pick up the victory here on Saturday against North Dakota State and cover the spread in the process.
