Manhattan is off to a somewhat respectable start to the regular season and they will be looking to conquer their toughest test yet. They will be facing off with the defending national champions here on Friday afternoon as they look for a massive momentum boost, heading into the remainder of November and into the month of December as well. Manhattan comes into this game as winners of three out of their first four games of the regular season and they will look to make it four out of five with their biggest victory of the year yet. They will need to play a mistake free and efficient game of basketball here on Friday afternoon if they want to take down the Connecticut Huskies and grab themselves one of the biggest wins in the early college basketball basketball season. They come into this game after winning two consecutive games and they will be looking for their third consecutive one of the season here in this one on Friday afternoon.

The Connecticut Huskies are off to a fantastic start to the season as they are not experiencing any type of championship hangover. They come into this game undefeated through their first five games of the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that consistency with another quality performance here on Friday afternoon. They return the majority of their roster from last season, and if this team remains healthy and consistent, there is a legitimate chance that the Connecticut Huskies could repeat as national champions. They have picked up some comfortable victories throughout the early part of the regular season, and they will be looking to grab another comfortable victory here on Friday afternoon as they look to further establish the fact that they are a top 10 team in the country and arguably the best team in the country this season as well. Not only do I look for Connecticut to pick up the comfortable victory here on Friday, but I do expect them to cover the spread as well.

Nicholls @ #25 Mississippi State – 2pm ET

Nicholls comes into this game looking to knock off Mississippi State here on Friday afternoon. They are off to a rather average start of the season as they have split their first six games of the year and they will be looking to grab their fourth victory of the season here on Friday afternoon as well. They are one of the most battle tested teams in the country this season when it comes to games played, as they have already been through six contests and they have plenty of experience heading into this game on Friday afternoon. They have been pretty decent on the offensive end of the court as they are putting up about 78 points per game. However, they are giving up about 76 points per game on the other end of the court which is not sustainable for long-term success. They come into this game with a little bit of momentum after picking up a 30 point victory in their previous contest, and now they will be looking for their second victory in a row.

Mississippi State comes into this game ranked 25th in the country and they will be looking to further maintain that ranking with a victory here on Friday afternoon. It has been a quality start to the season for Mississippi State as they come into this one undefeated through their first five games of the year. Now will be looking for a six consecutive victory to open up the season here in this one at home. They have been successful on the offensive end of the court as they are averaging around 76 points per game and they are giving up around less than 60 points per game which is very sustainable for long-term success if you’re Mississippi State and you are playing in a very tough SEC conference this season. They will be looking to grab a sixth consecutive victory to open up the year, and that is exactly what I expect out of Mississippi State in this one. As I look for them to not only pick up the victory, but cover the spread in the process here on Friday afternoon.

Montana @ #6 Houston – 4pm ET

The Montana Grizzlies are off to a somewhat respectable start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling with a quality performance over the Houston Cougars here on Friday afternoon. This game against the nationally ranked undefeated team is likely going to be their toughest test of the season and they will be looking to pass that test with flying colors by getting a massive momentum boosting win here on Friday. Montana is certainly capable of picking up a victory and upsetting Houston here in this one, but they will have to play an efficient mistake free game of basketball here on Friday afternoon if they want to get the job done. Montana has split their first four games of the regular season and they come into this game looking to get things rolling in the right direction by grabbing their third victory of the year. A victory over the sixth rank team in the country would really boost their momentum throughout the remainder of November and well into December as well. 

Houston comes into this game undefeated and they will be looking to pick up another comfortable victory to remain undefeated here on Friday afternoon. They come into this game ranked inside of the top 10 in the country and they have started the season with six consecutive victories. They will be looking to grab a seventh consecutive victory here in this one, as they look to maintain the narrative that they are deserving of a top 10 ranking throughout the early part of the regular season. Houston has one of the stingiest defenses in the country as they are giving up less than 50 points per game throughout their first six games of the season and if they can maintain that pace there are not many teams that will beat them this year. That is a recipe for an undefeated season if you, Houston and I expect them to grab themselves another suffocating victory here on Friday afternoon against Montana as well. As I look for them to pick up the wind and cover the spread against Montana here on Friday at home.

Southern Indiana @ #9 Duke – 6pm ET

Southern Indiana is not having a solid season and it is not going to get much better when they face off with Duke here on Friday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Unless they miraculously pull off the best game they will play all season. There is not much of a chance they will grab a victory against Duke here in this game on Friday night on the road in the toughest environment in all of college basketball. Southern Indiana comes into this game with only a single victory through their first six games of the year, and that is unlikely to change when they take the court here on Friday night against Duke. They have looked lethargic throughout their first six games of the season and they will be playing the toughest game they will have all season here in this one. Unless they somehow make 90% or more of their shots up and down the court there’s not much chance that they win this game here on Friday night.

Duke comes into this game looking to pick up a victory at home on Friday night as they look to maintain their solid start to the season throughout the rest of November. This is a Duke team that if they remain healthy and consistent throughout the regular season, they could potentially compete for an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament championship and make a deep NCAA tournament run as well. They are led by Kyle Filipowski, and the sophomore has been putting up incredible numbers throughout the early part of the regular season. He will be looking to maintain those numbers with a solid performance in this game against Southern Indiana, as Duke looks to grab a victory on Black Friday at home. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Duke to pick up the victory and cover the spread in this game on Friday night.

#17 Alabama @ Ohio State – 7pm ET

The Alabama Crimson Tide come into this game undefeated and they will be looking to remain undefeated with a quality victory here on Friday night against Ohio State. They come into this game ranked in the middle of the top 25 as they are currently 17th in the country and they will be looking to further establish themselves as a contender this season with a solid victory over a power five team here on Friday night. Alabama has picked up four consecutive victories to open up the season and they will be looking for a fifth consecutive win here on Friday night against Ohio State as they look to remain undefeated with another comfortable victory in this early season contest. Alabama has one of the best offenses in the country throughout the early part of the season as they are averaging over 100 points in their first four games of the year. They are coming off of a blowout victory in their previous game and they will be looking to add another blowout victory to their résumé here on Friday night as well.

Ohio State comes into this game as winners of three out of their first four on the year and they will be looking for a massive statement victory here on Friday night. They are off to a successful start this season, but that is the one thing they do not have yet and that is a statement win over a quality program and they have the opportunity to do so here in this one. Ohio State has been a consistent program over the last few years but they’ve consistently struggled when they’ve gotten the conference play and it has been their undoing throughout the last couple of seasons. They will be looking to finally assert themselves as a potential contender within the conference, and potentially make it to the first weekend of the NCAA tournament this season as well. However, I don’t think they will get that statement victory here in this game as I look for the Crimson Tide to pick up the win and cover the spread in the process in this game on Friday night.
