The Florida Gators (9-7, 2-2 SEC) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they play host to the No. 20 Missouri Tigers (13-3, 2-2 SEC) on Saturday. Missouri was dismantled by the Texas A&M Aggies 82-64 at Reed Arena on Wednesday. With 12 points, Kobe Brown was the top scorer in the loss.
The Tigers are sixth in the Southeastern Conference. Florida won on Tuesday at Pete Maravich Assembly Center, beating the LSU Tigers 67-56. Colin Castleton had 18 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks to lead the team. The Gators fell to seventh in the Southeastern Conference.
It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Florida earned the win in the only matchup between the teams last season 66-65 at Mizzou Arena in February 2022. Myreon Jones led the Gators with 18 points. Ronnie DeGray III had 13 points in defeat.
D’Moi Hodge and Brown, averaging 15.5 and 15.3 points per game, respectively, have led the Tigers in scoring this season. Brown also has grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Nick Honor is dishing 3.5 assists per game.Castleton’s 14.9 points per game have powered the Gators on offense.
Castleton also has collected 7.4 rebounds per game. Kyle Lofton has distributed 2.9 assists per game. The Tigers rank as one of the top scoring offenses in the nation, sixth-best with 85.7 points per game.
Missouri is 7-3 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +3.6 (82.3-78.7). Florida has split the last 10 (5-5), scoring 70.5 points per game on average while holding opponents to 64.0 (+6.5 margin). The Gators are averaging 74.3 ppg for the full season while allowing 66.5.
