We have reached the penultimate round of the 2021/22 Champions League, and as things stand, it is incredibly hard to split the contenders.

Villarreal and Liverpool will meet in this second leg of the semifinals in Spain. Liverpool last reached a UEFA Champions League Final in 2018-19 where they defeated Tottenham to win the crown and become club champions of Europe. While Villarreal has never won or appeared in a Champions League final.
Liverpool has an opportunity to win four major trophies this season. They are currently one point back of the premier league lead and they will be playing in the FA Cup Finals on May 14th against Chelsea. They have already won the Carabao Cup as well as they defeated Chelsea on Penalties 11-10. Now if they can hold their current 2-0 lead in the second leg of this fixture they will have a shot at winning their third trophy this year.
Villarreal is a weird team, they have a shot at winning the UEFA Champions League but will likely finish outside of the top four of their domestic league. They currently come into this one sitting in seventh place, nine points back of fourth place with four games to go. They won their first European trophy last year with a win in the Europa League. They also finished outside of the top four last year as well. As for the result of this one I am going with Liverpool to advance.

Real Madrid and Manchester City will meet in this second leg of the semifinals in Madrid. Real Madrid last reached a UEFA Champions League Final in 2017-18 where they defeated Liverpool. While Manchester City last reached a final last season where they were knocked off by defending champions Chelsea.
Manchester City won the first leg by a score of 4-3, now everything is up for grabs when they head to Spain to play in one of the toughest away environments in the world. They are currently leading the Premier League at the moment as they have a slim one point lead over Liverpool with only a month left in the season.
Real Madrid will need to pull out a come from behind win at home. They are very capable of doing so as they are a tough team to beat in their home arena. They have already locked up the La Liga trophy for this year and now they will be looking to reclaim their place at the top of the UEFA Champions League mountain. That is exactly what I see happening as I’m taking Real Madrid to advance over Manchester City.
