The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with plenty of struggles this season. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been out for much of the season with an injury, and running back Raheem Mostert has also missed a significant part of the campaign.
The Niners aren’t even allowed back in Santa Clara due to a local order that prohibits contact sports from being played in the county. The team has been forced to play a few home games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The 49ers have slipped to a +25000 line to win Super Bowl LV. The team isn’t ideal for Super Bowl bets, although they could be a viable team next year if they manage to recover soon enough. It will be intriguing to see what happens with the 49ers in the future, especially if they go in a new direction at quarterback.
Offensive Struggles
Nick Mullens has been forced into the quarterback position for most of the season. Jimmy Garoppolo has struggled to stay healthy since coming to the Bay Area from the New England Patriots. He is at risk of being on the cutting block this offseason, especially considering the vast amount of money he’s worth on the payroll.
Whether Mullens is the quarterback of the future in Santa Clara remains uncertain. The undrafted Southern Mississippi product has thrown ten touchdowns and ten interceptions this season.
He averages about 250 passing yards per game, but his control issues are a worry. He is not as mobile as other quarterbacks, which explains why he keeps on getting sacked.
Injury Woes All Over
The 49ers have been without Raheem Mostert for most of this season. Mostert had 450 rushing yards in seven games. Jerick McKinnon is his replacement, and he has 315 yards in thirteen games.

Tight end George Kittle has also been absent with an injury. Kittle has played in six games, getting nearly 500 yards. The team has relied mainly on Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne for their receiving needs, but neither has been as productive as Kittle.
Other players who have missed substantial times with injuries include cornerback Emmanuel Moseley and linebacker Kwon Alexander.
The Defense is Still Effective
There have been some positives surrounding the Niners, with most of them coming from the defense. The team gives up 24 points per game, which is around the average for the league.
The team also does well in stopping third downs, as they limit their opponents to about a third of their conversions. The 49ers also give up about 210 passing yards per game, which is a positive in a division that features some of the most talented quarterbacks in the league.
Should You Bet on the 49ers?
The San Francisco 49ers aren’t the best team to see for your Super Bowl bets this season. The 49ers have too many problems that are keeping them from being as productive as one would wish. The injuries surrounding the team and the uncertain situation surrounding the quarterback position are hurting the team.
The 49ers could be a more viable club if they can resolve some of their issues this offseason, but right now is not the time for a Super Bowl wager. The team will need to work a little harder this offseason if they want to stay competitive in an NFC West Division that is getting more challenging every year.
