The San Antonio Spurs (14-32, 5-15 Away) travel to face the Portland Trail Blazers (21-25, 11-10 Home), who will be out to snap their losing streak, on Monday. San Antonio dropped their last game against the Los Angeles Clippers 131-126 at AT&T Center on Friday.
Keldon Johnson was the top scorer in the loss with 23 points. Josh Richardson chipped in with 17 points. The Spurs are 14th in the Western Conference.
Portland is playing on back-to-back days after losing their third in a row yesterday at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter, falling to the Los Angeles Lakers 121-112. Anfernee Simons led the team in scoring in defeat with 31 points.
With 24 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds, Damian Lillard also played a part. The Trail Blazers are 12th in the Western Conference.It’s the last meeting of the season between the teams.
Portland will be aiming for a season sweep against San Antonio after winning both of their prior games, the last of which was a 128-112 victory at AT&T Center in December 2022.
Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 37 points and eight assists. Johnson had 25 points and seven rebounds in the loss. The Spurs have been led this season by Johnson, who is averaging 21.6 points per game.
Meanwhile, Jakob Poeltl is grabbing 9.3 rebounds per game, and Tre Jones is dishing 6.4 assists. Lillard has been the primary provider for the Blazers on offense, averaging 29.0 points per game. He has the eighth-highest scoring average in the league.
Lillard also has doled out 7.3 assists per game. Jusuf Nurkic has averaged 9.9 rebounds per game. The Trail Blazers have found success in recent matchups between the teams at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter, winning six of the last 10. San Antonio is looking to avoid an eighth successive road loss this season.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers are 5-2 when playing the second of a back-to-back this season and 3-1 with a rest disadvantage. The Spurs are 1-2 with a rest advantage. In the last 10 games, San Antonio is 2-8 with an average margin of -8.7 (116.0-124.7).
