Cleveland Guardians @ Kansas City Royals – 2:10PM ET

Cleveland comes into the finale of this series against Kansas City just looking to build up momentum towards next season after crashing and burning this year. They came into the season with plenty of expectations and they were favored to win the American League Central division, but things did not work out how anyone would’ve expected. One of the best bullpens in all of baseball ended up becoming a complete dumpster fire throughout the season for Cleveland as it cost them several games along the way and it is one of the main reasons they are missing out on the postseason. It also cost them the opening game of this series on Monday night and pretty much closed the door on any hope they would have at making the playoffs this season. 

It has been an awful season for the Kansas City Royals, but they will be looking to finish the regular season strong as they prepare for next year. They have been in what seems like an endless rebuild ever since they won the World Series back in the mid 2010s and unfortunately for Kansas City it doesn’t seem as if there’s any end in sight for the Royals. They will be looking to close this series against the American League Central division rivals strong with a victory over Cleveland here on Wednesday afternoon at home. However, I don’t see that happening as I look for Cleveland to pick up the victory in the finale of this series on Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City. 

Baltimore Orioles @ Houston Astros – 2:10PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to take another massive step forward, as they look to clinch the American League East division with about two weeks remaining in the regular season. Baltimore has built up a respectable lead over Tampa Bay, and they will be looking to shut the door throughout the week and it starts with grabbing a victory in the finale of the series against the defending World Series champions on Wednesday afternoon. They will also be looking to lock down the best record in the American League and as long as they don’t have a late season collapse they should do that as well. For now they will be looking to wrap up this series in what could be a potential preview of the ALCS. 

The Houston Astros are having a solid season as they picked it up over the summer after a rough start to the year back in April. They now sit in first place of the American League West division, and they will be looking to extend their lead over the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners with a crucial victory in the finale of the series against Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon at home. Houston is building up momentum at the right time as they look to the defending World Series championship from last season and with Cristian Javier taking the mound for the finale of this series I have the Houston Astros picking up the victory as well. 

Seattle Mariners @ Oakland Athletics – 3:37PM ET

It has been a solid season for the Seattle Mariners as they have picked up a lot of momentum over the summer after a very slow start to the season. After two consecutive seasons of 90+ victories and a playoff appearance last season, it looked as if Seattle was regressing throughout the year. However, they ended up not being the case, and they got hot at the right time, and now they will be heading towards their third consecutive 90 wins season, as well as potentially their second consecutive playoff appearance as well. They are still in the mix to win the American League West division and grab one of the three wildcard spots in the American League but they will have to finish strong coming down the stretch. 

There’s not much you can say about the Oakland Athletics this season other than how awful they have been. They have been one of the worst single-season teams in the history of baseball, and their future does not look much brighter in the city of Oakland. As it seems more and more likely that the team is on its way to moving to Las Vegas much like their football companions, the Las Vegas Raiders, who formerly called Oakland their home for years. The Athletics have been the worst team in all of Major League Baseball this season, and they have a long and lengthy rebuilding stage ahead of them in the future, regardless of where they play their baseball at. I don’t see it getting much better for them in this one as I have the Seattle Mariners picking up the victory.

Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees – 7:05PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to pick up a crucial victory in this game on Wednesday night against the New York Yankees. They are having a fantastic season at the moment and they currently hold a decent lead in the American League wild card race, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling as they look to clinch a top three spot in the American League wildcard race coming down the final stretch of the season. Toronto is a team to be taken seriously as the postseason approaches as they have plenty of talent on their roster, and they are more than capable of winning the American League pennant, and even the World Series if they get hot at the right time. 

The New York Yankees are all but officially eliminated from the postseason at this point and at this point in the year they will be looking to build up momentum towards next season. It has been a rough year for the New York Yankees after coming into the season with so many expectations, as injuries derailed their season, and their playoff hopes coming into and coming out of the All-Star break. They will be looking to play spoiler at this point of the season, as they try to pick up a crucial victory over the Toronto Blue Jays here on Wednesday night at home. Unfortunately for the New York Yankees, I expect the Toronto Blue Jays to pick up the victory in this game on Wednesday night. 

Milwaukee Brewers @ St.Louis Cardinals – 7:45PM ET

The Milwaukee Brewers are having a solid season and they are on the doorstep of officially clinching the National League Central division. With a strong performance in this game, and throughout the remainder of the week they could officially clinch a playoff spot by the time the weekend comes around. They will be looking to finish the regular season strong and build up as much momentum as possible before heading to the postseason and that starts with grabbing a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals here on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium. Milwaukee comes into this game with a magic number of seven in the National League Central division. 

It has been a rough season for the St. Louis Cardinals and they are likely going to finish in last place of the division. They came into the year with plenty of expectations, but they have been one of the biggest disappointments in all of baseball, and it seems as if they are heading for a rebuilding era for the first time in a long time for this historic franchise. They will be looking to spoil or delay the Milwaukee Brewers party with a victory here on Wednesday night at home as they look to get as much momentum as possible before heading into next season. Unfortunately for St. Louis, I don’t see that happening as I have Milwaukee picking up the victory in this one.
