Jurickson Profar will be looking to extend his 32-game on-base streak as the Colorado Rockies (21-29) host the Miami Marlins (25-25) at Coors Field on Thursday with the visitors eyeing a split of the four-game series.

The Marlins won 10-2 on Wednesday for their first win of the series. Sandy Alcantara went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits, to get the win.

Yuli Gurriel was 4 for 4 with a triple, two runs, and one RBI in the win. Jonathan Davis went 3 for 4 with a home run and two runs. Charlie Blackmon’s on-base streak hit 14 as he went 1 for 3 with a triple and one run for the Rockies.

Braxton Garrett (1-2, 4.60 ERA) is slated for the start for Miami. The LHP threw 6.1 scoreless innings in his last start, a 1-0 road win over the Giants on Saturday.

He scattered one hit while striking out eight and walking one in the no-decision. Garrett is making his first appearance against the Rockies this season. Garrett made one start against the Rockies in 2022, a 3-2 home victory on June 23.

He surrendered two runs on nine hits over 4.2 innings, striking out seven and walking one. For Colorado, southpaw Kyle Freeland (4-5, 3.88 ERA) will toe the rubber. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Marlins.

Freeland made one start against the Marlins in 2022, throwing seven innings in a 3-2 road defeat on June 23. He gave up seven hits while striking out five in the no-decision.

In his last start on Saturday, Freeland took the loss on the road against the Rangers. He threw two innings and gave up eight runs (5 ER) on nine hits in the 11-5 defeat.

Over the last five games, Miami has averaged 4.6 runs a game, a small gain compared to their season average of 3.6. Against southpaws like Freeland this season, the Fish have a .786 OPS.

Jorge Soler is the team’s most potent producer against left-handers with a 1.558 OPS in 37 at-bats. Colorado is averaging only 4.0 runs per game in the last five, down slightly from 4.4 for the season.
