He gave up six hits and walked three, while striking out six in the loss. In his last start on Friday, Morton took the loss on the road against the Diamondbacks. He threw seven innings and gave up three runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking two in the 3-2 defeat.


Over the last five games, New York has averaged only 2.6 runs a game, down from their season average of 4.3, while performing worse across the board (.162/.218/.325). Against right-handed pitchers like Morton this season, the Mets have a .705 OPS.
