Hot-hitting Ty France will be looking to extend his 13-game hitting streak as the Seattle Mariners (21-21) face off against the Boston Red Sox (23-20) at Fenway Park on Wednesday with the three-game series in the balance.
The Red Sox evened the series 1-1 after winning 9-4 on Tuesday. Nick Pivetta got the win, giving up four runs on six hits over 5.1 innings and striking out six.
Jarren Duran went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs in the win. Triston Casas added a solo home run. Taylor Trammell was 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs for the Mariners. Teoscar Hernandez added a triple, one run, and two RBIs.
ON THE MOUND
Marco Gonzales (3-0, 4.42 ERA) is slated to get the start for Seattle. The left-hander allowed two runs over six innings in his last start, a 9-2 road win over the Tigers on Friday.
He got the win, scattering five hits while striking out two and walking one. Gonzales is making his first appearance against the Red Sox this season.
Gonzales made one start against the Red Sox in 2022, a 4-3 home loss on June 10. He surrendered two runs on two hits over 4.1 innings, striking out four and walking six. For Boston, RHP Brayan Bello (2-1, 5.01 ERA) takes the mound.
It’s his first appearance of the season against the Mariners. In his last start on May 10, Bello got the win on the road against the Braves. He threw six innings and gave up two runs on six hits, striking out five and walking one in the 5-2 triumph.
