Texas Tech Red Raiders (10-2) head to face the No. 18 TCU Horned Frogs (10-1) on Saturday to get their Big 12 Conference schedules underway. Texas Tech blew out the South Carolina State Bulldogs 110-71 at United Supermarkets Arena on Tuesday, their sixth straight win.
Kevin Obanor had a standout performance with 24 points and nine rebounds. TCU won their eighth in a row on December 21 at Vivint Arena, beating the Utah Runnin’ Utes 75-71. Emanuel Miller had 21 points and seven rebounds, carrying the team.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Texas Tech and TCU split their matchups last season, each team winning one game. The Horned Frogs came out on top in the last meeting 69-66 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on February 26. Mike Miles Jr. led the Horned Frogs with 26 points and five steals.
Bryson Williams had 21 points in defeat. Obanor is averaging 16.6 points per game to lead the Red Raiders in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Daniel Batcho is grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game, and De’Vion Harmon is dishing 4.2 assists. Miles Jr.’s 12.9 points per game have powered the Horned Frogs on offense.
