The No. 5 seed Duke Blue Devils (26-8, 17-6 ACC) face the No. 12 seed Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (30-4, 21-0 Summit League) Thursday at Amway Center in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Oral Roberts dominated the North Dakota State Bison 92-58 at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on March 7 in the Summit League Conference Tourney Championship, their 17th win in a row.
Max Abmas was the key player with 26 points and 11 assists. Duke won their ninth in a row in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tourney Championship on Saturday at Greensboro Coliseum, beating the Virginia Cavaliers 59-49. Jeremy Roach topped the scoresheet with 23 points. With 20 points and 10 rebounds, Kyle Filipowski also played a part.
The Golden Eagles have been led this season by Abmas, who is averaging 22.2 points per game, fifth-highest in the country. Abmas also has dished 4.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Connor Vanover is grabbing 7.2 rebounds. Filipowski (15.4 ppg) has powered the Blue Devils on offense.
