The No. 22 TCU Horned Frogs (19-10, 8-8 Big 12) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they welcome the No. 9 Texas Longhorns (22-7, 11-5 Big 12) on Wednesday. Texas lost to the Baylor Bears 81-72 at Ferrell Center on Saturday, their third consecutive loss away from home.
Dylan Disu led the way in the loss with 24 points. The Longhorns are second in the Big 12 Conference. TCU won a close one on Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena, beating the Texas Tech Red Raiders 83-82. Mike Miles Jr. led the team in scoring with 24 points.
With 14 points and 12 rebounds, Emanuel Miller also played a part. The Horned Frogs are sixth in the Big 12 Conference. This marks the last meeting of the season between the teams. Texas will be looking for a season sweep against TCU after taking the only earlier game 79-75 at Moody Center on January 11.
Timmy Allen led the Longhorns with 17 points, while Sir’Jabari Rice was a key contributor with 15 points and six rebounds. Miller had 21 points in the loss. The Longhorns have been led this season by Marcus Carr, who is averaging 16.8 points per game. Carr also has dished 4.1 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Allen is grabbing 5.6 rebounds. Miles Jr. (13.0 ppg) and Miller (11.4) have been the primary providers of the Horned Frogs’ offense. Miller also has averaged 5.7 rebounds per game. Damion Baugh has tallied 4.7 assists per game.
The Longhorns are one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country, ranking 27th with 79.2 points per game. Texas is 6-4 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +4.1 (77.5-73.4). For the season, the Longhorns are averaging 79.2 points per game, compared to 68.8 for opponents.
TCU has gone 4-6 over the last 10, scoring 73.1 points per game on average while holding opponents to 72.8 (+0.3 margin). The Horned Frogs are averaging 76.1 ppg for the full season while allowing 67.6.
