The No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats (2-0) play host to the South Carolina State Bulldogs (0-3), who will be looking to snap their losing streak, on Thursday. South Carolina State was dismantled by the Duquesne Dukes 96-71 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse on Monday, their third consecutive loss. Davion Everett was the standout player in defeat with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Kentucky won in impressive fashion on Friday at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, beating the Duquesne Dukes 77-52. Antonio Reeves tallied 18 points to lead the team in scoring. With 11 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds, Sahvir Wheeler also played a part.
Lesown Hallums and Everett, averaging 12.7 and 12.3 points per game, respectively, are leading the Bulldogs in scoring early this season. Everett also has grabbed 6.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Rahsaan Edwards is dishing 2.3 assists per game.
Reeves and CJ Fredrick have powered the Wildcats on offense, averaging 20.0 and 17.0 points per game, respectively. Jacob Toppin is posting 9.5 rebounds per game, and Cason Wallace is distributing 6.5 assists.
