The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (23-4, 13-1 SEC), one of the country’s top scoring teams, are on the road to face the South Carolina Gamecocks (10-17, 3-11 SEC) on Wednesday.
Alabama dismantled the Georgia Bulldogs 108-59 at Coleman Coliseum on Saturday. Brandon Miller was the standout player with 21 points. The Crimson Tide remain first in the Southeastern Conference.
South Carolina won on Saturday at Pete Maravich Assembly Center, beating the LSU Tigers 82-73. Meechie Johnson Jr. had 20 points and six assists to lead the team.
The Gamecocks are 12th in the Southeastern Conference.It’s the only meeting of the season between the teams. Alabama triumphed in the only matchup between the teams last season 90-71 at Coleman Coliseum in February 2022, their seventh straight head-to-head victory. Jaden Shackelford led the Crimson Tide with 21 points.
Erik Stevenson had 17 points and six assists in defeat. Miller is averaging 18.7 points per game to lead the Crimson Tide in scoring this season. Miller also has grabbed 8.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Jaden Bradley is dishing 3.5 assists.
Gregory Jackson’s 15.3 points per game have powered the Gamecocks on offense. Jackson also has averaged 6.1 rebounds per game. Johnson Jr. has distributed 3.2 assists per game. With 83.4 points per game, the Crimson Tide are one of the top scoring offenses in the nation (6th).
