The No. 25 San Diego State Aztecs (19-5, 10-2 MWC) will be out to add to their home winning streak when they host the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels (16-8, 5-7 MWC) on Saturday. UNLV beat the Wyoming Cowboys 69-59 at Arena-Auditorium on Wednesday.
With 33 points and eight rebounds, EJ Harkless was a top performer. The Runnin’ Rebels remain seventh in the Mountain West Conference. San Diego State won a close one on Wednesday at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, beating the Utah State Aggies 63-61. Matt Bradley had 18 points and six rebounds to lead the team. The Aztecs are first in the Mountain West Conference.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. San Diego State will be looking for a season sweep against UNLV after triumphing in the only prior meeting 76-67 at Thomas & Mack Center in December 2022, their fourth straight head-to-head victory.
Bradley led the Aztecs with 23 points, while Darrion Trammell was a key contributor with 21 points and six rebounds. Luis Rodriguez had 24 points and six rebounds in defeat. The Runnin’ Rebels have been led this season by Harkless, who is averaging 18.1 points per game.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez is grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game, and Keshon Gilbert is dishing 3.6 assists. Bradley (13.0 ppg) has been the primary provider for the Aztecs on offense. Nathan Mensah is posting 5.8 rebounds per game, and Trammell is doling out 3.5 assists.
