The Virginia Tech Hokies (13-8, 3-7 ACC) will try to slow down one of the top scoring teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference when they travel to face the No. 23 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (16-5, 7-4 ACC) on Tuesday.Virginia Tech topped the Syracuse Orange 85-70 at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday.

With 25 points, Grant Basile was the scoring leader. Hunter Cattoor chipped in with 20 points and eight assists. The Hokies remain 12th in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Miami (FL) dropped a close one on Saturday at Petersen Events Center, falling to the Pittsburgh Panthers 71-68. Jordan Miller had 18 points in defeat to lead the team. The Hurricanes remain fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Virginia Tech and Miami (FL) split their matchups last season, taking one game apiece. The Hokies got the win in the last meeting 71-70 at Watsco Center in February 2022. Keve Aluma led the Hokies with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Kameron McGusty had 15 points in the losing effort.The Hokies have been led this season by Sean Pedulla and Basile, who are averaging 15.5 and 14.8 points per game, respectively. Meanwhile, Justyn Mutts is contributing 7.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.Isaiah Wong and Miller have powered the Hurricanes on offense, averaging 16.2 and 15.0 points per game, respectively.

Wong also has doled out 3.6 assists per game. Norchad Omier has collected 10.4 rebounds per game. The Hurricanes are one of the top scoring offenses in the league, ranking third with 77.7 points per game.
