The Pittsburgh Panthers (14-7, 7-3 ACC) will try to slow down one of the top scoring teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference when they play host to the No. 20 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (16-4, 7-3 ACC) on Saturday. Miami (FL) outplayed the Florida State Seminoles 86-63 at Donald L. Tucker Center on Tuesday.
Isaiah Wong was a top performer with 18 points and nine rebounds. The Hurricanes slipped to fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Pittsburgh won a close one on Wednesday at Petersen Events Center, beating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 81-79. Blake Hinson had 24 points, carrying the team. The Panthers are third in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
This marks the only meeting of the season between the teams. Miami (FL) triumphed in the only game between the teams last season 85-64 at Petersen Events Center in February 2022. Charlie Moore led the Hurricanes with 19 points. John Hugley IV had 20 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Wong and Jordan Miller, averaging 16.3 and 14.9 points per game, respectively, are leading the Hurricanes in scoring this season. Wong also has dished 3.7 assists per game. Meanwhile, Norchad Omier is grabbing 10.5 rebounds per game.
Hinson and Jamarius Burton have been the primary providers of the Panthers’ offense, averaging 16.2 and 14.4 points per game, respectively. Hinson also has averaged 6.4 rebounds per game. Nelly Cummings has distributed 4.5 assists per game.
The Hurricanes rank as one of the top scoring offenses in the ACC, third-best with 78.2 points per game. Miami (FL) is 7-3 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +6.8 (78.6-71.8). Pittsburgh has also a 7-3 record over the last 10, scoring 74.4 points per game on average while allowing 69.3 (+5.1 margin).
