The Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-7, 1-6 SEC) welcome the No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs (16-4, 5-3 Big 12) Saturday in what may turn out to be a low-scoring game.
TCU outplayed the Oklahoma Sooners 79-52 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on Tuesday. Mike Miles Jr. had a standout performance with 23 points.
The Horned Frogs remain fourth in the Big 12 Conference. Mississippi State lost their fourth in a row in a close one on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum, falling to the Florida Gators 61-59.
Shakeel Moore and Tolu Smith scored 12 points apiece to lead the team in scoring in defeat. The Bulldogs are 12th in the Southeastern Conference.
The Horned Frogs got the win in the last meeting between the teams 61-52 at American Bank Center in November 2014. Miles Jr. is averaging 16.3 points per game to lead the Horned Frogs in scoring this season.
Meanwhile, Eddie Lampkin Jr. is grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game, and Damion Baugh is dishing 3.5 assists.Smith has been the primary provider for the Bulldogs on offense, averaging 13.7 points per game. Smith also has averaged 8.1 rebounds per game.
Dashawn Davis has recorded 2.7 assists per game. The Bulldogs and the Horned Frogs are two of the strongest defenses in the country, ranking seventh and ninth in defensive efficiency, respectively.
