It has been a respectable start to the season for New Hampshire as they come into this game as winners of four out of their first six games on the season. This will be their biggest test of the season and they will be looking to pass it with flying colors, as they look to upset the defending national champions on the road in Connecticut. They come into this game with an opportunity to get a massive momentum boosting win, and a huge résumé building victory early on in the regular season as they look to take down a nationally ranked and undefeated Connecticut team. They have built up a little bit of momentum coming into this one as they currently find themselves on a two game winning streak coming into Monday night, and they will be looking for a third consecutive victory here in this one. They will need to play a perfect game of basketball if they want to get the job done against Connecticut here on Monday.
The Connecticut Huskies are the defending national champions and they are not experiencing any type of championship hangover throughout the early part of the year. They come into this game ranked inside of the top five of the nation as they are currently in the country and they are undefeated through their first six games of the season as well. They will be looking for a seventh consecutive victory here on Monday night at home against New Hampshire as they look to continue coasting through their nonconference schedule before getting into Big East conference play later on this year. They will be playing in one of the toughest conferences in America this season so each and every victory along the way is that much more important for a team like Connecticut who will be looking to get back to the NCAA tournament and defend their national title. I look for them to not only pick up the victory in this game on Monday against New Hampshire but I also look for them to cover the spread in the process.
