Washington @ #11 Arizona – 8:30pm ET

*Note: This game has since been postponed.*

The only ranked game for the December 2nd slate of games is a PAC12 conference game between Washington and Arizona. Washington is currently 4-4 on the year, and Arizona is undefeated and nationally ranked.

Washington and Arizona face each other on Thursday night in the NCAA. The 11th-seeded, Arizona Wildcats, are off to an amazing start to their campaign as they won all 6 games so far. They have only struggled against Wichita State as they have been forced into overtime. In the rest of their meetings this season, the Wildcats have been more than merciless. They have three wins by more than 45 points and they also smashed the 4th-seeded, Michigan, in the final of the Roman Main Event Classic. The team is quite exceptional so far as they top the Pacific 12 ahead of USC and UCLA.

Washington, on the other hand, is quite inconsistent with its performance so far as the team looks at 4 wins and 4 losses after almost a month in the NCAA. They suffered a surprising loss in their last match against Winthrop, losing the game by 8 points. Losses to Wyoming and Nevada, and a huge upset to Northern Illinois made things for them from bad to worse. The Huskies rely much on a single player – Terrell Brown Jr. So far, he averages 21.9 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game. His FG% is somewhat decent, standing at 47% at the moment. However, his height is what makes the difference as he is not able to compete against tall and physical players. Christian Koloko and Azuolas Tubelis are such types of players for Arizona and in my opinion, they wouldn’t let Brown Jr. go past them with ease. Therefore, I am willing to go with the Wildcats covering the spread in their meeting with Washington on Thursday.

Arizona is proving that it doesn’t matter who their head coach is, they’re still going to win basketball games. First-year head coach Tommy Lloyd has stepped in and led the Wildcats to an undefeated 6-0 season so far, and most of the games haven’t been close. They’ve played two noteworthy games, a win over Michigan (that doesn’t look quite as impressive now, as Michigan is in free fall) and a win over Wichita State in the Roman Main Event Classic.

On the other bench, we have a Washington team that has struggled all year, coming into this one at 4-4. They’ve beaten no one noteworthy, and their losses are to Northern Illinois, Wyoming, Nevada, and Winthrop. That’s not a resume that makes me believe they can handle an undefeated, eleventh-ranked Arizona team on the road. The Wildcats run free in this one, winning with ease and getting their winning streak up to seven to start the year.

The only ranked game of the Thursday, December 1st slate probably will not be a good one.  Washington is sitting at 4-4 on the season and they are going to travel south to Arizona to take on the nationally ranked and undefeated Wildcats. Washington opened up the year with a loss to mid-major Northern Illinois, then followed it up with four wins in their next five games. They will enter Thursday’s game with a two-game losing streak, as they fell to Nevada and Winthrop in their last two games.

The 11th ranked Arizona Wildcats come into this one undefeated and on a six-game winning streak to open the season. Arizona already claimed a top 10 victory with a big win over Michigan earlier this year. Outside of a four-point victory over Wichita State in the Roman Main Event, Classic none of their games have been close. They have an average margin of victory of an impressive 33 points on the year. As for the results as I said earlier I do not look for this to be close at all and I look for the Wildcats to pick up another victory and remain undefeated.
