The No. 9 Baylor Bears (20-7, 9-5 Big 12), one of the top scoring teams in the Big 12 Conference, are on the road to face the No. 12 Kansas State Wildcats (20-7, 8-6 Big 12) on Tuesday. Baylor was beaten by the Kansas Jayhawks 87-71 at Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Adam Flagler was a top performer in the loss with 22 points and seven assists. The Bears remain third in the Big 12 Conference. Kansas State found victory on Saturday at Fred Bramlage Coliseum, beating the Iowa State Cyclones 61-55. Markquis Nowell had 20 points and six rebounds, carrying the team.
The Wildcats remain fourth in the Big 12 Conference. The teams are meeting for the last time this season. After taking the only previous season matchup against Baylor 97-95 in overtime at Ferrell Center on January 7, Kansas State will be pursuing a season sweep. Nowell led the Wildcats with 32 points and 14 assists.
Flagler had 23 points and seven assists in the losing effort. Keyonte George and Flagler, averaging 16.6 and 14.9 points per game, respectively, have led the Bears in scoring this season. Flagler also has dished 4.7 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Jalen Bridges is grabbing 5.7 rebounds per game. Keyontae Johnson and Nowell have powered the Wildcats’ offense, averaging 17.4 and 16.9 points per game, respectively. Johnson also has pulled down 7.4 rebounds per game, while Nowell has tallied 7.5 assists per game, third-most in the NCAA.
The Bears rank as one of the most explosive offenses in the league, second-best with 78.5 points per game. The Bears have had the advantage in the last 10 trips to Fred Bramlage Coliseum, winning six.
