#5 UConn @ Indiana – 1PM ET

The defending national champions come into this game undefeated looking to add a solid resume building victory here on Sunday afternoon. They have looked fantastic through their first three games of the season, and they will be looking for a fourth consecutive win to open up the year. They will be looking to further establish themselves as a top five team in the country as they look to defend their national championship this season. They are putting up a ton of points throughout the early part of the regular season as they are averaging nearly 100 points per game coming into this game against the Indiana Hoosiers on Sunday. They are coming off of three consecutive blowout victories as well and this will be an early season test for this UConn Huskies team against a quality Indiana program here in this one at Madison Square Garden. Connecticut will be looking to maintain their points per game pace despite a step up and competition and if they do so they should have no problem winning this game.

The Indiana Hoosiers come into this game undefeated through their first three games of the season and they will be looking for a massive upset victory of a top five team in the country. Indiana is one of the Blue Bloods of the sport college basketball and they will be looking to get back to the top of the mountain this season. They  are off to a quality start this year and they will be looking to maintain that start with another win. A victory  at Madison Square Garden over the defending national champions would be a massive résumé builder for the Hoosiers early on in the year. As they get deeper into their schedule before entering conference play each, and every victory along the way, will be huge for them, as they are playing in one of the most competitive conferences in all of college basketball. I expect us to be a solid back-and-forth game between these two quality programs, but in the end I do look for the Connecticut Huskies to pull out the victory over the Indiana Hoosiers.

Alcorn State @ #18 Michigan State – 6PM ET

Alcorn State comes into this game, looking to upset the Michigan State Spartans here on Sunday night in East Lansing. It would be a massive momentum boosting victory for this Alcorn State program and it would give them plenty of hope going into the remainder of their schedule. It would also be a massive résumé booster for this Alcorn State program to get a victory over a top 25 team in the country on their home floor. They are off to a less than impressive start to the season as they have lost three out of their first four games on the year and they will certainly need a momentum boosting win here in this one on Sunday. They will need to play very efficient game of basketball and control the pace of this contest as well as limit the number of mistakes they make if they want to get a win over a solid Michigan State team here in this one. They will need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the floor as they are giving up north of 80 points per game throughout the early part of the year.

Michigan State comes into this game still looking to rebound from their season opening loss of James Madison that killed a ton of expectations for this team. This is a Michigan State Spartans team that is still capable of competing with the upper echelon of teams in the country and they have the potential to compete in the Big Ten conference this season as well. They will be looking to rebuild their confidence throughout the remainder of their nonconference schedule, and grabbing a comfortable victory in this game over Alcorn State would be a big step in the right direction for them. They come into this game after suffering two losses in their first four games of the year after falling to Duke in the champions classic. The losses just continue to pile up for the Spartans team that had so much potential coming into the season and they will need to turn things around rather quickly. Luckily, for Michigan State, I do expect them to bounce back here in this game and cover the spread in the process at home.

Brown @ #16 USC – 8PM ET

Brown comes into this game looking to upset Southern California here on Sunday night on the road in Los Angeles. They are catching a USC team that is reeling after getting upset in their previous game, but they came into that game shorthanded without a couple of their top scores as well. Brown will be looking to take advantage of USC’s recent struggles, and a massive résumé building victory early on in the regular season as they look to build as much more as possible before heading into their Ivy League schedule. It has been a rather rough start to the season for Brown as they come into. This game is losers of three out of their first four games on the year and they will be looking for their second victory of the season against the top 25 team. It would be a huge momentum boost for this team as well as it would allow them to get back into the win column, and gain some confidence into the remainder of November. 

USC comes into this game, looking to bounce back after losing their previous contest. They were without Boogie Ellis in their previous game, and it ended up hurting them late in the contest, as they were unable to score and facilitate the basketball like they would’ve wanted. Now they will be looking to get right back into the win column with a bounce back performance against Brown here on Sunday night in Los Angeles as they look to further establish themselves as a top 25 team in the country. USC comes into this game with a pair of victories through their first three games of the season and they will be looking to get right back into the win column with a quality performance here on Sunday. That is exactly what I expect out of the USC Trojans in this game on Sunday night as I look for them to not only pick up the victory at home over Brown, but I look for them to cover the spread in the process. 

Southern @ #23 Illinois – 8PM ET

Southern comes into this game looking to pick up a massive top 25 upset early on in the year to give them themselves a huge momentum boost heading into the remainder of November. They are off to a less than impressive start this season as they come into this game after losing three out of their first four games on the year and they will be desperately searching for their second victory of the season here in Champaign on Sunday night. Victory like this would give them a huge morale boost throughout the early part of the year as well after their recent struggles to open up the season. They will need to play an efficient quality game of basketball here on Sunday night to get the job done as they will have to make their shots on the offensive end of the court and get some necessary stops at key moments throughout this game. They will need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the court as they are giving up over 90 points per game and they will be looking to snap a two game losing streak here in this one as well.

Illinois comes into this game looking to take care of business and bounce back from their loss earlier this year to Marquette. This is an Illinois team that has plenty of potential this season as long as they are healthy and consistent throughout the remainder of the year. They will be looking to build up their number of wins throughout their nonconference schedule and it starts with getting right back into the win column here on Sunday night at home against Southern. This is an Illinois team that will need as much momentum as possible before heading into their conference schedule with how loaded the Big Ten conference is this season. They coming to this game on a one game winning streak after handling Valparaiso in their previous game and I expect them to grab a second consecutive win with another quality performance here in this one. As I look for Illinois to pick up the victory and cover the spread in the process at home for their second consecutive victory to wrap up this weekend. 

Dayton @ #6 Houston – 8:30PM ET

The Dayton Flyers come into this game flying high throughout their first handful of games this season. No pun intended but Dayton has had one of the best offensive performances throughout the early part of the year and they will be looking to grab a massive momentum boosting victory here on Sunday night in the finale of this in season tournament. They have beaten teams like St. John’s and LSU and now they will be looking to take down a top 10 team in the country here on Sunday night. This is a Dayton team that has made noise in the NCAA tournament several times throughout the last few years and they are a team that has a legitimate opportunity to make a deep run in this tournament as well. They will be looking for a résumé building victory with a victory over Houston here on Sunday night as they look to continue their solid start to the regular season.

The Houston Cougars are off to a fantastic start this year and this is a team that comes into the season with plenty of momentum as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the year. They will be looking for a solid résumé building victory here on Sunday night and a tournament victory in the process against a quality Dayton team. Houston has high expectations this season of competing for a national championship and to do so they have to win games like this along the way. They come into this game after picking up five consecutive victories to open up the season and they will be looking for a six consecutive win here on Sunday night. I expect this game to be a solid back-and-forth game between these two teams and this one on Sunday night and in the end I look for it to go over its total points line by the time the final whistle sounds.
