With 17 points and three assists, Osun Osunniyi also had a strong game. The Cyclones earned the win in the last meeting between the teams 85-83 at AT&T Center in March 2014.
The Tar Heels have been led early this season by Caleb Love and Armando Bacot, who are averaging 18.8 and 16.8 points per game, respectively. Bacot also has grabbed 12.0 rebounds per game, fourth-most in the nation. Meanwhile, RJ Davis is dishing 3.8 assists per game.Jaren Holmes (16.8 ppg) has been the primary provider for the Cyclones on offense. Holmes also has recorded 4.8 assists per game. Aljaz Kunc has pulled down 6.8 rebounds per game.
