The Indiana Hoosiers (22-10, 13-8 Big 10) face the Penn State Nittany Lions (21-12, 12-10 Big 10) Saturday at United Center in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tourney.
Penn State narrowly defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 67-65 in overtime at United Center yesterday in the quarterfinals, their fourth straight win.
Seth Lundy was the scoring leader with 16 points. Andrew Funk chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds. Indiana won in the quarterfinals yesterday at United Center, beating the Maryland Terrapins 70-60. Trayce Jackson-Davis had 24 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and four blocks, leading the team.
Penn State got the win in the only meeting against Indiana this season 85-66 at Bryce Jordan Center on January 11. Lundy led the Nittany Lions with 25 points. Jackson-Davis had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the losing effort.
The Nittany Lions have been led this season by Jalen Pickett, who is averaging 17.8 points per game. Pickett also is contributing 6.8 assists, fourth-most in the nation, and 7.4 rebounds per game.
Jackson-Davis has powered the Hoosiers on offense, averaging 19.3 points per game. Jackson-Davis has also tallied 10.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The Hoosiers rank as one of the most accurate teams from the field in the NCAA, 11th-best at 49.0%.
