The Georgetown Hoyas (7-22, 2-16 Big East) will look to reverse their losing run at home Sunday when they play host to the No. 20 Providence Friars (20-8, 12-5 Big East), who are struggling through a road skid of their own.

Providence was dismantled by the UConn Huskies 87-69 at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on Wednesday, their third straight loss away from home. With 16 points, Bryce Hopkins was the top scorer in the loss. Jared Bynum added 14 points. The Friars are second in the Big East Conference.

Georgetown lost their fourth straight home game on Wednesday at Capital One Arena, falling to the St. John’s Red Storm 79-70. Brandon Murray had 25 points to top the scoresheet in the losing effort.

With 16 points and seven assists, Jay Heath also had a strong game. The Hoyas remain 11th in the Big East Conference. The teams are meeting for the last time this season.

Providence will be aiming for a season sweep against Georgetown after taking the only prior game 74-62 at Amica Mutual Pavilion on February 8, their third straight head-to-head victory. Hopkins led the Friars with 17 points.

Bradley Ezewiro had 19 points and three blocks in defeat.The Friars have been led this season by Hopkins, who is averaging 16.8 points per game.

Hopkins also has grabbed 8.9 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Bynum is dishing 3.8 assists. Primo Spears has supplied much of the Hoyas’ offense, averaging 15.4 points per game. Spears also has recorded 5.3 assists per game.

Qudus Wahab has posted 6.8 rebounds per game. In the last 10 games, Providence is 6-4 with an average margin of +3.7 (77.2-73.5). Georgetown has a 2-8 record over the last 10, allowing 75.7 points per game on average while scoring only 69.4 (-6.3 margin).
