#19 Florida Atlantic @ Virginia Tech – 1PM ET

Tony Battalio

After making a miraculous run to the final four last season, Florida Atlantic is off to a quality start this season as well. They will be looking to maintain that quality start to the regular season with a solid performance here on Sunday afternoon on the road against Virginia Tech. A victory  in this game over a quality Atlantic Coast Conference opponent would be a solid, résumé building win for Florida Atlantic in the early part of the regular season. They have been rather consistent on the offensive end of the court as they come into this game averaging around 83 points per game throughout their first five games of the regular season. That is very sustainable for long-term success for this Florida Atlantic team and they come into this game on a two game winning streak, looking to further extend their streak to three games with another quality victory on Sunday.

Virginia Tech is off to a fantastic start this season as well and they will be looking to grab a huge top 25 victory here on Sunday afternoon. The Hokies come into this game as winners of five out of their first six games on the regular season and a six victory here in this one would be their biggest one by far to open up the year. They will be looking to grab a huge résumé boosting victory as they look to further establish themselves as a potential contender throughout the regular season. A win in this game against a team who went to the final four last season would go a long way in helping Virginia Tech establish some legitimacy throughout the early part of the year. It would also likely earn them a spot in the top 25 rankings when they come out next week if they can pull off a win against Florida Atlantic here on Sunday afternoon. Although unfortunately for Virginia Tech I don’t see that happening, as I look for Florida Atlantic to grab the win here in this one on Sunday.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Florida Atlantic (-160)

Iona @ #18 Colorado – 2PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Iona Gaels are a team that has made some noise in the NCAA tournament throughout the last several seasons. They find themselves off to a less than respectable start this season, and they will be looking to make some noise early on in the year with a top 25 upset against Colorado here on Sunday afternoon. Not only will they be looking to make some noise with a quality victory over a ranked Colorado team, but they will also be looking to get things rolling in the right direction after losing three out of their first five to open up the season. For Iona they will need to be better on the defensive end of the floor after giving up around 76 points per game through their first five games of the regular season which is not something that is sustainable for any type of success this year. However, they do have a little bit of momentum coming into this one after blowing out Buffalo in their previous game and now they will be looking to take down the Buffaloes here on Sunday.

Colorado is off to a quality start to this season as they come into this game ranked 18th in the country. They will be looking to further establish themselves as a top 25 team in the country with another quality performance here on Sunday afternoon at home against Iona. They come into this game as winners of four out of their first five games on the regular season and they will be looking to make it five out of six with another solid performance here on Sunday afternoon and a game where they find themselves as heavy betting favorites. Colorado comes into this game after dropping their first game of the season to Florida State and they will be looking to get right back into the win column with a solid performance here on Sunday at home against Iona. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Colorado to pick up the victory here on Sunday and I look for them to cover the spread in the process as well.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Colorado -18.5 (-110)

Wyoming @ #15 Texas – 3PM ET

Tony Battalio

Wyoming is off to a quality start for the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that quality start with a top 25 upset over Texas here on Sunday afternoon. Wyoming comes into this game with four victories through their first five games of the regular season and they will be looking to make it five out of six with a huge résumé building win here in this one. A victory in this game for Wyoming would give them a huge résumé boosting win, and a massive momentum boost into the remainder of their nonconference schedule. As they look to establish themselves as a potential mid-major threat for the NCAA tournament this season. Wyoming comes into this game after winning two consecutive games and four out of their last five and they will be looking to bring their smothering defense that is only giving up 66 points per game to Texas and pick up a huge victory here on Sunday.

The Texas Longhorns are off to a fantastic start to the regular season and they come into this game ranked 15th in the country. They will be looking to maintain their hot start to the season and pick up a victory here on Sunday afternoon at home against Wyoming, as they look to further establish themselves as a potential contender to win the national championship this season. Texas comes into this game as winners of four out of their first five games on the regular season and they will be looking to make it five out of six with a solid victory over a quality mid-major team here on Sunday afternoon. They have been playing solid basketball on both ends of the floor as they are putting up over 80 points on offense, and giving up less than 70 points on defense. They will be looking to maintain those averages throughout this game on Sunday and that is exactly what I expect out of Texas as I look for them to pick up the win and cover the spread here at home.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Texas -15.5 (-110)

#12 Texas A&M @ Iowa State – 6:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

Texas A&M is off to a fantastic start to the regular season and they will be looking to maintain that solid start with a quality victory over Iowa State here on Sunday night. They come into this game ranked 12th in the country, and they will be looking to maintain that ranking where they win here against Iowa State as they look too further establish themselves as a contender for the NCAA tournament and a legitimate contender for the SEC conference championship as well. Texas A&M comes into this game with five victories through their first six contests of the year and they will be looking to make it six out of seven with another quality performance here on Sunday night against Iowa State. They have been very solid on the offensive end of the court throughout their first six games as they are putting up over 80 points per game and they will be looking to maintain that average with an offensive explosion here on Sunday night as well.

Iowa State comes into this game with an identical record of five victories and one loss through their first six games of the regular season. They will be looking to maintain that quality start to the regular season with another top-tier performance here against Texas A&M as they look to further establish themselves as a legitimate top 25 team in the country. A victory in this game would likely put them in the next edition of the top 25 rankings as it would give them six victories in their first seven games of the year and a solid résumé building win over a nationally ranked Texas A&M team. They have also been very solid on the offensive end of the court as they are averaging north of 80 points per game through their their first six games of the year and these two teams are very similar coming into this game on Sunday. In the end, I look for Iowa State to pick up the upset victory over Texas A&M to wrap up the weekend.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Iowa State (+100)
