Boogie Ellis was the key player with 27 points. Tennessee won in dominant fashion yesterday at Imperial Arena at Atlantis Resort, beating the Butler Bulldogs 71-45. Santiago Vescovi had 13 points to lead the team.
Ellis and Drew Peterson, averaging 18.0 and 15.8 points per game, respectively, have led the Trojans in scoring so far this season. Peterson also is contributing 7.6 assists, sixth-most in the country, and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Tyreke Key (11.8 ppg), Josiah-Jordan James (10.3), and Vescovi (10.3) have been the primary providers of the Volunteers’ offense. Vescovi also has posted 5.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Zakai Zeigler has tallied 3.8 assists per game.
