The No. 19 UCLA Bruins (4-2) welcome the Bellarmine Knights (2-3), who will be out to end their road losing skid, on Sunday.
Bellarmine was defeated by the Duke Blue Devils 74-57 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Monday, their third loss in a row away from home. Curt Hopf and Peter Suder were the leading scorers in the loss with 11 points apiece.
UCLA won in dominant fashion on Wednesday at Pauley Pavilion, beating the Pepperdine Waves 100-53. Amari Bailey topped the scoresheet with 19 points. With 17 points and eight rebounds, Jaime Jaquez Jr. also played a part.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. UCLA triumphed in the only matchup between the teams last season 75-62 at T-Mobile Arena in November 2021. Peyton Watson led the Bruins with 19 points. Dylan Penn had 19 points in defeat.
The Knights have been led so far this season by Suder, who is averaging 13.2 points per game. Meanwhile, Juston Betz is contributing 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Jaylen Clark (15.7 ppg), Jaquez Jr. (15.0), and Tyger Campbell (14.7) have powered the Bruins’ offense. Clark also has posted 7.7 rebounds per game, while Campbell has distributed 4.0 assists per game.
