The No. 14 Baylor Bears (19-6, 8-4 Big 12), one of the top scoring teams in the Big 12 Conference, welcome the West Virginia Mountaineers (15-10, 4-8 Big 12) on Monday.
West Virginia was dominated by the Texas Longhorns 94-60 at Moody Center on Saturday. Emmitt Matthews Jr. was a top performer in defeat with 13 points. The Mountaineers remain eighth in the Big 12 Conference.
Baylor won their third in a row on Saturday at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena, beating the TCU Horned Frogs 72-68. Adam Flagler topped the scoresheet with 28 points. With 23 points, LJ Cryer also impressed. The Bears are second in the Big 12 Conference.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. After taking the only prior season game against West Virginia 83-78 at WVU Coliseum on January 11, their fourth straight head-to-head victory, Baylor will be seeking a season sweep. Keyonte George led the Bears with 32 points and seven rebounds.
Joe Toussaint had 20 points in the losing effort. Erik Stevenson is averaging 14.2 points per game to lead the Mountaineers in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Jimmy Bell Jr. is grabbing 5.7 rebounds per game, and Kedrian Johnson is dishing 3.0 assists.
George (16.9 ppg) and Flagler (14.6) have been the primary providers for the Bears on offense. Flagler also has tallied 4.5 assists per game. Jalen Bridges has averaged 6.0 rebounds per game. The Bears rank as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league, second-best with 78.8 points per game.
