The No. 21 Baylor Bears (14-5, 4-3 Big 12), one of the top scoring teams in the Big 12 Conference, welcome the No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks (16-3, 5-2 Big 12) on Monday. Kansas was blown out by the TCU Horned Frogs 83-60 at Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Jalen Wilson had a standout performance in the losing effort with 30 points and seven rebounds. The Jayhawks are third in the Big 12 Conference. Baylor won their fourth in a row in a close one on Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center, beating the Oklahoma Sooners 62-60. Adam Flagler recorded 16 points to top the scoresheet.
With 11 points and eight rebounds, Jalen Bridges also had an impressive game. The Bears remain fifth in the Big 12 Conference. The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Kansas and Baylor split their matchups last season, each team taking one.
The Bears earned the win in the last meeting 80-70 at Ferrell Center in February 2022. Flo Thamba led the Bears with 18 points, while Jeremy Sochan contributed 17 points. Ochai Agbaji had 27 points and six rebounds in the losing effort.
Wilson is averaging 21.3 points per game, eighth-highest in the country, to lead the Jayhawks in scoring this season. Wilson also has grabbed 8.8 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Dajuan Harris Jr. is dishing 6.6 assists. Keyonte George’s 17.4 points per game have powered the Bears on offense.
Bridges is pulling down 5.5 rebounds per game, and Flagler is tallying 4.7 assists. The Bears are averaging 79.6 points per game, ranking as one of the top scoring offenses in the league (2nd). The Jayhawks have had the advantage in the last 10 trips to Ferrell Center, winning six.
