The floundering Louisville Cardinals (0-3) travel to face the Arkansas Razorbacks (3-0), who will be looking to build on their winning run, on Monday. Louisville was narrowly defeated by the App State Mountaineers 61-60 at KFC Yum! Center on Tuesday, their third straight loss.
El Ellis was a top performer in the losing effort with 29 points. Arkansas won their third in a row on Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena, beating the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 71-56. Ricky Council IV had 19 points, carrying the team.
The Cardinals took the last meeting between the teams 96-66 at Enterprise Center in November 2009.The Cardinals have been led early this season by Ellis, who is averaging 24.0 points per game. Ellis also has dished 3.3 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield is grabbing 8.7 rebounds. Council IV (18.7 ppg) has supplied much of the Razorbacks’ offense. Council IV also has recorded 3.7 assists per game. Trevon Brazile has averaged 10.0 rebounds per game.
