The No. 5 UCLA Bruins (16-2, 7-0 Pac-12), one of the NCAA’s top scoring defenses, head to face the Arizona State Sun Devils (15-3, 6-1 Pac-12) on Thursday. UCLA defeated the Colorado Buffaloes 68-54 at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday, their 13th win in a row.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. had a standout performance with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks. The Bruins are first in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona State won their fourth in a row on Saturday at Gill Coliseum, beating the Oregon State Beavers 74-69. Desmond Cambridge Jr. had 21 points to lead the team. The Sun Devils remain second in the Pac-12 Conference.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. UCLA and Arizona State split their matchups last season, winning one game apiece. The Bruins triumphed in the last meeting 66-52 at Pauley Pavilion in February 2022.
Jaylen Clark led the Bruins with 16 points and nine rebounds. Jay Heath, DJ Horne, and Marreon Jackson had 9 points each in the loss. The Bruins have been led this season by Jaquez Jr., who is averaging 16.7 points per game. Jaquez Jr. also has grabbed 7.1 rebounds per game.
